Lets clear up the SUNSCREEN issue....
The deal with the sunscreen, I actually asked my dr because I am a NATURAL redhead, and I LOVE being outside. I use 70+ SPF on a regular basis. I wanted to know about Claudia because I have heard conflicting info. My dr said the reason you shouldnt put sunscreen on a baby under six months of age is because people often think that because the baby has sunscreen they can be in DIRECT sunlight. The sunscreen itself (if you buy a baby version ie; aveeno or something similar) isnt bad for baby. It can just be used as a back up in case the baby gets in water for a short period of time (by short were talkin less than 10 mins) If you were to use a version of sunscreen that isnt made for babies it can cause their pores to get clogged and acne or whatever.....(rashes, allergic reactions, etc.)
Hope this helps ladies....best word of advice, keep baby out of the direct sun, and if you cant at all times, use the aveeno baby sunblock as a back up method!
HAPPY SUMMER!!

I too am a natural red head and I don't tan I burn and my freckles join together. Amelia unfortunately I think has my skin so we'll be keeping her in the shade. Thanks for the info on why! I do have the Aveeno sunblock and will be packing it just in case. I can always just put a little on her arms if we are out and about. I have a hat to shield her face and she has plenty of light weight pants or I can put a light receiving blanket over her.

Also, if you want some help choosing a safe sunscreen for your baby and yourself, the Environmental Working Group has come out with a list (some ingredients used in most sunscreens are turning out to be potentially very bad for us): http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen/
Banded 03/22/06 276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)
Sleeved 07/11/2013 228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)
Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
Thanks for the info. I am always worried about sunburns so I have been using sunscreen on Stajah since 5 weeks...the baby stuff. She is rarely in the sun when we go to the beach or pool, but I know how bad a burn feels and I in no means want her to get it. I will say what little bit of sun she has turns her legs dark. I think I probably won't have much too worry about with her, but I put it on to be safe. Thanks again!

Our munchkin was 5 weeks premature and stayed in the NICU for 10 days before being released to go home. I was so nervous as we had a Disney trip planned with the entire family just two months later. After several appointments with his Dr., including one to double check that everything was ok the day before we left, we got the go ahead to take him with us!
While we were there, we used plenty of baby sunscreen (SPF 100) and lotioned the kids down every morning before we even stepped out of our hotel (it was close to 100 degrees every day we were there!)And we re-applied several times a day. I'm happy to say that we were there for 10 days and got not one single burn, not one! And all four of us are natural redheads too, we were all over it with the sunscreen! No acne or any other problems I can see in either of my kiddos so far weeks later, Mack is almost 2 and Paxton was 8 weeks while we were there! Hope that helps! Darcy
